04 / Point cloud registration

Bring your scans into a shared frame of reference.

Align and combine supplied 3D scan data into a coordinated point cloud that supports existing-condition review, electrical modeling, and installation planning.

What the service covers

  • Review supplied scan data, coverage, and available control information.
  • Register overlapping scans into a common coordinate system.
  • Review alignment quality and identify gaps or areas needing clarification.
  • Prepare point cloud files for the agreed BIM and review workflow.

What your team can receive

  • A registered point cloud in agreed file formats.
  • Coordinate and alignment information for project use.
  • A summary of registration checks and identified limitations.
  • Organized files for existing-condition review and downstream modeling.

Registration quality depends on scan quality, overlap, coverage, and available control. Accuracy requirements are agreed before work begins; registration does not establish survey-grade accuracy on its own. On-site capture and scan-to-BIM modeling are scoped separately.

How it works

A clear process, from inputs to handoff.

01

Review the scan data

Confirm scan formats, coverage, control data, and intended use.

02

Align the scans

Align overlapping scans using suitable references and available control.

03

Check registration

Review alignment and flag gaps, weak overlap, or uncertain areas.

04

Prepare the files

Export and organize the agreed point cloud deliverables.

Getting started

Let’s define the right scope.

Share sample scan files, scan locations, available survey control or coordinate references, target file formats, and the intended use of the point cloud.
